:: Pre-Battle Thoughts & Deployment ::

Some dojoing led to Hemera being ditched. She is so expensive! We were playing Spread the Net and Ret got to move first. My idea here was to overwhelm the Hurricane if possible and keep the Strider in check.

:: Game ::

Stuff runs up. I take care to keep the Chimeras so far away from Thorn that he'd need to do more than just run to reach them. MHSF spread out on the right flank.

The Cygnar forces advance in a tight formation.

I anticipate Haley2 feat next turn. One Chimera is sent way up to Blinding Light the Strider, the MHSF spread out and Spears are in annoying positions. I do get a little greedy here, focus-wise, so I die and we mini-feat my focus usage so that I can stop TK from Haley.

Haley feats and the Hurricane goes in. As predicted she cannot catch everything because of a combination of her being exposed, big distances and order of activation issues...

...so I feat and kill the Hurricane in return. Another Blinding Light on the Strider.

The game is essentially over here, Hyperion has too many boxes left and Cygnar cannot deal with him.

Victory to the, errr, Elves!

:: Evaluation ::

I think this game shows exactly what Haley needs to worry about in this matchup: If she's unable to contain MHSF and the Strider gets dealt with without Issyria having to expose her arc nodes it's very hard to get a decent position for attrition. My opponent should probably have just kept his Strider back, literally outside of Blinding Light range. This would've given me a bit of a headache as advancing on turn two would have been less than trivial with the MHSF.

This feels like a very even and skill-and-experience-based matchup. I love those!
